M.P.
Warehousing & Logistics Corporation (MPWLC) was
established in the name of M.P. State Warehousing
Corporation in the year 1958 under
Agriculture Produce (development and warehousing)
Act 1956 with 50% shareholdings of Central warehousing
corporation and 50% of State government. Later on,it
was repealed by warehousing Corporation act 1962. |

M.P. Warehousing & Logistics Corporation
is an autonomous body engaged in scientific
storage of agriculture and associated produce
in the state. As the state is located in the
central India and is well connected by rail
network and fourteen inter state highway passing
through it, storage of foodgrains and consumer
goods has an added advantage. |

MPWLC
was started with 6 branches with 11000 Tons capacity and
has grown manifold with the present storage
capacity (own) of 11.00 lakhs (upto Dec-07) Metric Tons. The Corporation is a founder
member of National Association of Warehousing
Corporations. |

The
aim of the MPWLC are to |
|
Acquire
and build godowns and warehouses at such places within the
State as it may, with the previous approval of Central Warehousing
Corporation, determine; |
|
Run
warehouses in the State for the storage of agriculture produce,
seeds, manures, fertilizers, agricultural implements and notified
commodities; |
|
Arrange facilities for the transport of agricultural produce,
seeds, manures, fertilizers, agricultural implements and notified
commodities to and from warehouses; |
|
Act
as an agent of the Central Warehousing Corporation or of the
Government for the purposes of the purchase, sale, storage
and distribution of agricultural produce, seeds, manures,
fertilizers, agricultural implements and notified commodities;
and |
|
Carry
out such other functions as may be prescribed. |

Strives to progressively improve overall organization performance
and capabilities. |
|
Is
engaged in continual search for potential customers as to
have regular increase in the volume of business. |
|
Keeps constant watch over the needs and requirements of the
customers and makes arrangements to meet their needs accordingly
and in case of wide fluctuations in market trends and business
uncertainties releases the hired storage capacities. Also
takes steps to explore new ways and means to diversify the
business. Thus ensures optimum use of storage capacities and
keeps the operation cost to the minimum level. |

Make
extra efforts to provide quality services and to exceed customers
expectations and enhances their satisfaction, thereby confidence
and trust is created in the capability of the organization.
Pursuit for conducting regular market surveys, collection
of data and information on business trends, knowledge of pressures
built up by competing institutions and technological advances
continues. After careful analysis of data effective decisions
are taken so as to ensure sustained growth and development
of the organization. |

is conducive and beneficial to achieve better result. |

The organization being a statutory body, its area of activities
is confined to function as provide under the relevant Act
and rules. It functions on business principles having regard
to public interest and is guided by such instructions on questions
of policy as may be given by the State Govt. or the Central
Warehousing Corporation. Central Warehousing Corporation,
being pioneer in the field of scientific storage facilities,
possesses expertise in storage of various commodities including
agricultural produce, commodities of hygroscopic nature, commodities
affected by hot and rainy weather, commodities which are cared
for flavor, taste and aroma, commodities of perishable nature
like fruits and vegetables. Central Warehousing Corporation
disseminates this specialized knowledge by training the personnel
of all State Warehousing Corporations. |

The organization is earnestly engaged in strengthening the
rural economy and is enabling the cultivator class to have
the storage and warehousing facilities as envisaged in the
report of committee of Direction on All India Rural Credit
Survey - 1954. |

Corporation have received Warehousing sector 2000-01 productivity
award “Certificate of Merit” from National Productivity
Council of India on 16th day of February 2004 at New Delhi. |
|
Corporation have received Warehousing sector 2001-02 award
“Second Best Productivity Performance” from National
Productivity Council of India on 16th day of February 2004
at New Delhi. |

Corporation
