The
Right to Information Act 2005- Implementation Status
Parliament
has enacted the Right to Information Act 2005 which has been published
in the Gazette of India on 21 st June 2005
The
objective is to provide a practical regime of right to information
for citizens to secure access to information under control of public
authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability
in the working of every public authority.
Section
4(1) of the act, lays down the obligations of public authorities
and enjoying upon it to provide information within a specified time-frame.
The
obligations of the public authorities to provide information in
respect of various areas are as follows, along with the current
implementation status in the MP Warehousing & Logistics Corporation
(Public authority per Sec. 2(h) of the Right to Information Act
2005)
